•NACE stands for Non-Invasive Prenatal Test. This test detects chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus.
It is different from the Preimplantation Genetic Test For Aneuploidies (PGT-A) because it is non invasisve to mother and fetus NACE analyzes a blood sample taken from the mother during pregnancy, while the PGT-A analyzes samples from embryos in the blastocyst stage before implantation in the mother’s womb (These are embryos of an ICSI or IVF cysle).
Non-invasive Prenatal Test (NACE)
Non-invasive Prenatal TEST is a screening test that analyzes most of the frequent chromosomal abnormalities without the risk of compromising pregnancy. It is done by extracting a peripheral blood sample from the mother, this allows doctors to detect free DNA that exists in the maternal plasma with the help of bioinformatic analysis and next generation sequencing technology. The test has a 99% accuracy rate.
Non-invasive Prenatal Test )NACE( does not require complicated procedures, a simple blood sample from the mother's arm is all the doctors need to analyze fetal and maternal DNA to detect any abnormalities with high and precise results. In case the results of the blood tests reveal some problems the doctor will have to verify these results by performing amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling. the results of these should appear within a few days.
Types of Non-invasive Prenatal Test (NACE)
Bedaya Hospital offers the different types of this test which are:
NACE
NACE is the regular test that analyzes chromosomes 21,18, and 13. It also gives results on the most common defects of the sexual chromosomes X and Y. (Down's syndrome- Edwards syndrome- Patau syndrome- sex chromosomes)
NACE 24
NACE is an expanded type that f the NACE test and analyzes the 24 chromosomes, So next to Down's syndrome- Edwards syndrome- Patau syndrome- sex chromosomes the other chromosomes are inspected too for triple or partial copies.
NACE EXTENDED 24
NACE EXTENDED 24 analyzes all of the 24 chromosomes not only detects triple or partial copies but can also detect syndromes caused by microdeletions.
NACE and NACE 24 results usually come out within 7 days, but NACE EXTENDED 24 takes about 10 to 14 days to be completed and results handed over.
